Download Android 5.1.1 Update for Moto G 1st Gen before the OTA Release
Motorola’s most successful mid-range smartphone of 2013 was the Moto G. As Moto G users wait for the 5.1 update to be released for their device, a new AOSP Android 5.1.1 Lollipop ROM has been released by a developer.
A senior XDA Developer named Alberto97 has uploaded this new ROM. This new ROM is developed on the Android Open Source Project v5.1.1 Android Lollipop that is currently being released for the Nexus devices.
The AOSP ROM comes with a lot of improved features and is inspired by CyanogenMod. The developer Albert097 has made use of some tweaks from CodeAurora Forum and CyanogenMod for a more user-friendly experience.
This new ROM for Moto G is available for download but, still needs some improvements. The developer has done a great job with it, but certain issues need to be fixed. We would only recommend this new AOSP ROM for those who are willing to install it at their own risk.
